Prior to the sensational
duo that is Mia and Bailey, there was Toby and Turtle. Toby was the first
corgi; he passed away a few years ago following a plucky battle with cancer.
Turtle, as you may have already guessed, was a cat. Between 2011 and 2014, when
our child was young, Toby and Turtle sometimes wrote short letters to our
child, about their day or other Things of Import that had happened while she
was at school or other activities. These letters have recently been unearthed from
the great recesses of our child’s room, and so we have decided to share them
with you. We hope that you enjoy them!

Hi, it’s Toby. We have had 3 thunderstorms since last night.
I do not like thunderstorms. And no one will let me jump into bed and snuggle
with them until the storm is over. Maybe I will get on the couch and snuggle
with your unicorn pillow pet.
Hello, it’s Turtle. I want to say that, if Toby gets to
snuggle with the unicorn pillow pet, I should also get to snuggle with it.
Also, I found the lid to a chapstick. It’s very fun to play with. Much more fun
than puzzle pieces; they are not nearly as tasty. Not that I was tasting them
or anything. I am a good cat. Maybe we should get 100 pillow pets and make a
bed for me out of them. That would be so soft. I might even share it with you
if you ask nicely. Do you think 100 pillow pets would be enough?
